Gail served as a college counselor at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, CA for five years before starting her own college counseling practice. She has counseled thousands of students about the college search and selection process and college admissions generally. Along the way, she spoke to hundreds of college admission representatives about what they are looking for in applicants. Gail has also visited a wide array of college campuses both in the United States and abroad. Her goal is to help students discover those colleges where they will thrive. She also instructs students how to write effective college admission essays and individualize their college applications. And she has been selected to present at professional conferences of college counselors.
Gail graduated from Bucknell University summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a double major in English and Political Science. She went on to graduate from the University of Virginia Law School and practice corporate law in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. She received her College Counseling Certificate through UCLA.
For the past 4 years Julie has been a college counselor at an independent high school in the South Bay helping students discover their unique and most appropriate college options. While continuing her work in a school setting, Julie also works independently with students and families to navigate the college selection process with greater confidence and less stress. Julie is experienced in helping students articulate their unique talents and goals in order to craft the best possible applications. She has visited a variety of college campuses both domestically and abroad and connected with their admissions representatives. As an educator, counselor and parent of two children having attended college, she brings both wide-ranging and local insight to her work with students.
Julie graduated from Occidental College with a B.A. degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs. She worked in the Los Angeles Unified and Manhattan Beach School Districts as a tutor and substitute teacher. She earned her College Counseling credential through UCLA.
